Ahmed Al Jallaf Appointed to CANSO Executive Committee

The Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) announced the appointment of Ahmed Al Jallaf, Assistant Director-General of the Air Navigation Services Sector at the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, as a member of the CANSO Executive Committee. This announcement was made during the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the organization, which concluded its activities in Baku, Azerbaijan, last week.

The Executive Committee of CANSO is composed of 12 global CEOs and influential leaders in the aviation industry. This committee is accountable for the overall performance of CANSO, including: the appointment of the Director General; approving the budgets; and reviewing and approving policy.

H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the General Civil Aviation Authority, highlighted that the selection of Emirati competencies and talents for prominent roles within international and regional aviation organizations reflects trust in the UAE’s civil aviation sector. It serves as an indicator of the sector’s strength, competitiveness, and its possession of qualified personnel, expertise, and specialized skills. Al Suwaidi further underscored that the appointment of Ahmed Al Jallaf as a member of the Executive Committee of CANSO reaffirms the UAE’s pivotal and influential role in advancing aviation navigation and shaping global policies.

On his part, Mr. Ahmed Al Jallaf affirmed that his presence in this international position will serve the country’s vision and directives aimed at enhancing international cooperation frameworks and ensuring alignment and harmonization of local and regional strategies with the global aviation plan. He emphasized accelerating priority projects to deliver optimal services to airspace users and ensuring the safety and security of international civil aviation movements.

In addition, Ahmed Al Jallaf also serves as the Chair of the GCC Air Navigation Committee, and the ICAO MID Air Navigation Planning & Implementation Group. Throughout his distinguished career, Al Jallaf has garnered numerous awards, most notably the Best Executive Director for Aviation Award in 2018.
